Description

RCBS specializes in offering a complete line of reloading supplies for the home hand loader. RCBS Reloader Supplies set the standard for high-quality reloading equipment - just as they've done for over 60 years. With six decades of experience under their belt, RCBS knows all the ins and outs of the gear used by the home ammunition reloader. The brass case is the most expensive part of a loaded round of ammo. Reloading brass (by replacing the primer, powder and bullet inside the used brass casing) offers savings of about 60% over factory-loaded ammunition. RCBS handloading supplies provide shooters with everything needed to re-use expensive brass cartridge cases by reloading them with new primer, powder and bullets.

I’ve been reloading for a few years. I have dedicated progressive reloaders for a 45 ACP, 44 Magnum, 357 Magnum/38 +P, and 9 mm. I also have a Hornady Lock N Load Classic Single Stage press.I wanted to acquire a press for rifles, and I found this Turret to be a good compromise of a single stage and a progressive. After drilling two holes into my desk, I acquire applied two Carriage bolts to secure it.Since this is not my first press, I found assembly was very easy. Align the primer bar, secure it with screws provided. Attach the lever to the ram assembly. Attach the spent primer catch to the base. However, I find the primer catch to be cheap but I taped the catch along the seams to keep it into one piece.I screwed three sets of dies onto the Turret. I ordered two additional turrets for more two piece die sets.As for the shellplate, I thought this unit was defective. However, the way you install a shell plate is this:Take the shellplate in one hand, and as you push it into the ram base, you’re pushing against the spring in the groove. The shellplate will lock into place. When removing the Turret, you have to be aware of the detent ball and spring that will fly out, if you’re not careful. The Turret is easy to remove, operate and swivel. It has a lever that pushes it clockwise or counterclockwise. The operation is smooth, and the Turret does sway when you’re pressing the ram/cartridge up into the Turret but it doesn’t compromise the operation of the dies.I called customer service, as I had an issue with the spring clip in the ram base. After about 4 minutes, they had my information what I needed. The customer service was excellent and I got three replacement springs instead of one.Compared to my single stage, this is pretty amazing. It’s a solid piece of engineering, apart from the primer catch. The spare turrets are only $40 give or take a few dollars. That beats my Dillon 550 as the cost of a toolhead will exceed $200 each per caliber.Highly recommended.
